My own wishes and my wishes for the 2nd Home of Christ Church in San Francisco

My name is Wing Tse and I was baptized at the 2nd Home of Christ Church in San Francisco (2HOC). I have received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior since 1998. For these past years because of my duties on the choir, my brother Kyle has shared with me the sermons of Pastor Gordon. I am grateful to have such support from my fellow brothers and sisters as I continue to learn and grow spiritually on my Christian journey. God truly has been gracious to me. Through Pastor Gordon’s teachings, God has continued to mold and shape me to be His useful instrument in the Church, at work, in school and in the family. He helps me by giving me a humble and innocent heart. 

First of all, my own wish is, in all aspects of my life whether in Church, work, school, or in the family, that everything I do is to glorify God and to further his Name. I want to continue to be a good team player at Church and to serve and to help whenever and whatever I can. For example, I have been fortunate enough to serve on the choir. Singing a wide range of hymns in choir at the Sanctuary is challenging. Not only do I need to be on base key when singing while following the conductor, but I also need to adjust and fine tune my own tone to that of the other team members in order to ensure a harmonic effect within the entire choir. Just as Christ is the head of the Church, the body of the Church is made up of each person working as a team together to ensure a harmonious, strong and united whole. 

Since 2005, I have been a work study adult, continuing my studies at the California State University East Bay in Hayward. No matter how many challenges occur in my ever-changing life, I keep telling myself to do my best academically with a view to always glorify and bring honor to our Lord. Thus, when I feel overwhelmed and stressed from the school coursework, I can take comfort and strength in the Lord and his Word. For me, getting good grades at school is a reflection of hard work and diligence. But hard work and diligence may not be enough. I place my faith in the Lord. He has a plan for me and I pray that as long as I do my best on every homework, quiz, and exam, I leave the results in His hands. In a nutshell for all of my own wishes I listed above, my ultimate wish is to maintain a balanced life at church, work, school and family but to always remember that Jesus Christ will be paramount in all aspects of my life. 

Next, my wish for the 2HOC brothers and sisters is for love and harmony, and for health and unity. Love is one of the key elements to build a strong bond among brothers and sisters because “we love because God first loved us.” Once we have a solid foundation, built on love for Christ and for each other, we will naturally interact with each other in harmony. We will be at home when coming to the 2HOC because the Church will be as the name says, our Second Home. In addition to love and harmony, I wish all our bothers and sisters in the 2HOC a healthy and growing spiritual life. I pray we will continue to spread the Good News through evangelism at every opportunity whether through outreach at Atwater, the ministry in China, our co-workers, our neighbors or even members of our family. Lastly, I wish all church members unity and fellowship. Let us continue to pray for and support our church leaders such as the pastors, elders, and deacons because they dedicated their lives to serving our Lord and our fellow brothers and sisters in our Church.
